A Westport lawyer who tried to beat a police breath test has apologised to the arresting officer, admitting he acted like a “complete prat”.
Criminal lawyer Doug Taffs, 53, was yesterday fined $4000 in the Nelson District Court after earlier admitting charges of driving with excess breath alcohol, failing to remain for an evidential breath test and obstructing police.
